<p>eine &#8216;purpose-idea&#8217; ist manifestierter sinn. die idee hinter dem tun. sei es bezogen auf unternehmen, produkte oder kommunikation &#8211; oder alles andere.*</p>
<p>social objects sind die grundlage von kommunikation, sie sind ursache von gespraechen.</p>
<p>soziale objekte fuehren zu einer menge aufregung und aufsehen. zumindest koennen sie das. soziale objekte koennen alles sein, auch messages, aber zweifelsohne haben sie mehr futter als eine simple botschaft. das macht das konzept interessant fuer die kommunikation, besonders die werbung. kommunikation mit sozialen objekten bedeutet einen himmelweiten unterschied zur werbung slash reklame wie wir sie mal kannten und noch allzuoft sehen muessen.</p>
<p>aber mehr als auf sicht reicht das nicht. soziale objekte muessen einen kern haben. sie muessen <em>sinnvoll</em> sein. z.b. weil sie auf einem ideal, einer idee, einer tiefen ueberzeugung, einem grund fußen.</p>
<p>soziale objekte, die auf diesem prinzip basieren sorgen heißen irgendwann (vielleicht) großartig, außergewoehnlich, revolutionaer, relevant, inspirierend, motivierend, fuehrend usw. usf. das gilt fuer unternehmen, kommunikation und all den rest.</p>
<p>wir in der kommunikation sollten daran unbedingt und immer und niemals nicht denken.</p>

ROI stand den marketeers und unternehmen in den augen.</p>
<p>ungluecklicherweise evozierte das internet und seine armada an tools und services einen weiteren effekt: die revolution der massenkommunikation von 1:n zu n:n und marketeers sind nun &#8211; ob sie es schon begriffen haben oder nicht &#8211; einfache mitspieler auf einem großen, kaum ueberschaubaren feld.</p>
<p>die naehe des ROI-rushs und der mediendemokratie/social media/anderesbuzzword hat ein gewichtiges missverstaendnis erzeugt: strategische kommunikation mittels social media ist nicht gleichzusetzen mit (gar kurzfristiger) ROI-messbarkeit. social media (argh) ist auch kein verkaufstool. ich bekomme den eindruck, dass dieses missverstaendnis viele kommunikationsexperten, werber etc. verwirrt. da wird schlichtweg erwartet, dass das beackern dieses neuen, tollen feldes mit neuen, coolen werkzeugen auf die gute alte art und weise irgendwie doch noch funktioniert.</p>
<p>vor diesem hintergrund erst erscheinen mir artikel wie dieser bei off the record nachvollziehbar. <a href="http://off-the-record.de/2010/08/11/das-missverstaendnis-social-media/comment-page-1/#comment-18027">kommunikation als flirt, der lediglich das ziel abverkauf im sinn hat</a>. so kurz gedacht, so weit verbreitet. der gespraechige markt wird dann nicht mehr von einem nervtoetend bruellendem billigen jakob gestresst, sondern von charmanten gigolos umgarnt, verfuehrt. so einfach ist es nicht, denn unsere kommunikationsinfrastruktur fußt auf mindestens 3 grundlegenden prinzipien, die den flirtansatz recht schnell ad absurdum fuehren: 1) sichtbarkeit, 2) auffindbarkeit, 3) mitteilungsbeduerfnis. der permanente flirt wird also sehr schnell als solcher enttarnt. die marke als schwerenoeter gebrandmarkt und ins feuer geschickt oder der konsument laesst sich eben von eben jenem produkt/marke verfuehren, die gerade verfuegbar ist.</p>
<p>das wiederum wuerde den ROI-gedanken brutal konterkarieren.</p>
<p>nein, das gespraech ist nicht belangloses, aber nettes beiwerk, sondern das geruest zukuenftigem markterfolges. markterfolg wird wesentlich durch soziales kapital bestimmt sein. die reputation einer marke, die relevanz des markenverhaltens, die qualitaet der produkte und die glaubwuerdigkeit der organisation werden entscheidend fuer den markterfolg sein. und da soziales kapital ein sehr komplexes konstrukt ist werden marken nur dann nachhaltig ueberleben, wenn sie sich nicht der kurzfristigen liaison hingeben, sondern ihr verhalten von grund auf veraendern. um es in mit fallons aki spicer zu sagen:</p>

<p><strong>produktqualitaet ist nicht genug</strong></p>
<p>der flirt macht spaß, aber wenn ein jeder sehen kann, was fuer ein lover boy du bist, dann ist der charme auch alsbald dahin.</p>
<p>und der einwand, die menschen wollen gute produkte (um mal von der metapher wegzukommen) und finden diese auch, wenn sie denn da sind, trifft den kern auch nicht ganz. ein gutes produkt macht noch keinen markterfolg (der tesafilm wurde dem vernehmen nach erst durch einen marketingkniff erfolgreich). das gilt in  potenzierter form heute mehr denn je. tue gutes und sprich darueber ist das mindeste. aber auch das reicht nicht: kommoditisierung betrifft mehr und mehr gueter &#8211; entsprechend wird die rolle der marke als sinnstifter immer wichtiger. das klingt trivial und ist es erstmal auch. denn was neu ist, ist nicht neu. allein das marketing war recht erfolgreich damit, die basalsten regeln der kommunikation zu ignorieren. das feuert jetzt zurueck.</p>
<p>der anfang ist also <a href="http://whatthefuckismysocialmediastrategy.com/">relativ simpel</a>, das markenspezifische weiterdenken verdammt schwer und die umsetzung kaum zu denken. aber notwendig.</p>
<p>der <a href="http://www.milchschnitte.de">status quo</a> (insbesondere hierzulande) macht immer wieder deutlich: es ist noch ein weiter weg zu gehen. dann aber sind die moeglichkeiten <a href="http://www.thecoolhunter.co.uk/article/detail/1772/branded-art-installations">fantastisch</a>, denn wonach ein jeder immer suchen wird ist <a href="http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2010/08/worlds-biggest-writing/">sinn und selbstverwirklichung</a>. in diesem spannungsfeld koennen marken eine menge (gutes) erreichen.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>was fuer ein epos. was fuer ein phaenomen. was fuer ein wunderschoenes stueck strategische kommunikation, kurz werbung.</p>
<p>nike (und wieden + kennedy / akqa etc.) ist natuerlich immer eine hausnummer &#8211; insbesondere in sachen fußball. nikefootball +, nike 5 oder was auch immer man hernimmt: meisterwerke.</p>
<p>die erwartungshaltung ist groß, so groß, dass ich mich heute tatsaechlich auf nike.com anmeldete, um den neuesten worldcup spot &#8216;write the future&#8217; zu sehen. die erwartungen wuerden mehr denn erfuellt. 3 minuten grandioses. von ronaldo ueber cannavaro, ribery, iniesta walcott, evra, silva bis zu rooney sind die groeßten der großen vertreten und jede kameraeinstellung zelebriert den fußball in reinform. da faellt es kaum mehr ins gewicht, dass in minimalen nebenrollen noch legenden wie federer, bryant oder homer simpson auftauchen..  so wundervoll kann klassik sein, wenn man wirklich will. die feuerkoepfe von wk zusammen mit genialen regisseuren wie innaritu (21 grams z.b.) bringt und sie  - machen laesst.</p>
<p>mindestens genauso beeindruckt bin ich von dem (vermuteten) insight dahinter: es geht um den alles entscheidendenen augenblick, den sekundenbruchteil, in dem der eine spieler zum mythos, der andere zur schande wird. wie dieser moment der wahrheit ausgeht, das ist nicht mehr der weltklasse eines spielers geschuldet, nein, da sind andere kraefte am werk. ob der seidene faden reißt oder haelt, das ist eine frage des willens, des ehrgeizes, des wollens (just do it.. ?) &#8211; und genau an dieser stelle setzt der nike-hebel an. nike ist natuerlich motivation pur und leistet emotionale unterstuetzung, aber letztlich bietet es auch das ganz rationale werkzeug, das mittel zum zweck an: den schuh, das trikot etc.  zu verkopft? sicherlich. bei solch einem spot, aber das kalkuel dahinter, so es denn so war, halte ich fuer mindestens so gut wie die inszenierung.</p>
<p>noch eine randbemerkung zum thema klassik, roi und alles muss digital sein: die reaktionen heute morgen auf twitter sind schon jetzt ueberwaeltigend. das ding ist erst am 22. live im tv und schon jetzt ueberschlagen sich die online-reaktionen.. der roi durch earned media, wom etc. wird durch die decke gehen. schaumer mal.</p>

Not sure if the question “What are your fans looking for on a social network that they can&#8217;t get from your business website?” is correct. Not sure if the business website is of much value to those people anymore. But it’s about interactivity – of course, but also inspiring content experiences and after all it’s def. about pushing content, content, great content.<br />

<p>Mathematics of WOM: Bill Keogh from Agknowlogy calculated the real value of WOM, namely what costs are incurred by a promoter and a detractor? Yeah, yeah, the business area is kinda.. different, but figures are still intriguing: “a Detractor costs the business -$119,500 through their own negative value and WOM &#8230; a Promoter is worth $58,000”.<br />

<li><span style="font-size:11pt;"><strong>Influence is determined by the receiver not the transmitter</strong>. Attempts to measure influence based on volume of output are misguided and futile. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:11pt;"><strong>Influence is contextual.</strong> People are influential about something. Knowing what that ’something’ is, is the key to accurately measuring influence. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:11pt;"><strong>Value is a proxy for influence</strong>. Things that people are willing to reward carry more influence for them. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:11pt;"><strong>Influence is about behaviour</strong>. To be influential, the receiver has to do something, whether that’s change their opinion, buy a product, or pass on a joke. Measure the actions. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-size:11pt;"><strong>Influential people do not influence everyone</strong>. People can be influential without influencing.<br />

Maybe not rocket science, but good to have it in writing. Well, point 5 seems a bit like marketing buzz bullshit, but what he probably means is right: influence is not necessarily intended. Probably that’s even the outcome when the 3 main building blocks come together:Context meets behaviour meets context. Bang.</p>
